Collaboratively designed with zany blues rocker Greg Koch, the Tone City Lil Heat is a dynamic mini overdrive pedal that adds luscious low-to-medium gainy grit to your guitar signal. Based on Tone City's popular Sweet Cream stompbox, the Lil Heat's circuitry is tweaked to meet the tonal demands of the "Gristle King" - more gain, and more low-end!
Tone City produces multiple dirt pedals, from high-gain firebreathers to mild overdrives. The Lil Heat sits somewhere in the middle, with more gain on tap than the standard Sweet Cream pedal it's based on. Able to pump out amp-like "edge-of-breakup" tones, the Lil Heat reacts beautifully to your playing nuances and lends itself well to intricate licks - perfectly complimenting Greg's unique hybrid finger-picking style!
The Lil Heat works great into practically any amplifier. Able to spice up a clean channel or push a driven amp into sweet saturation, the Lil Heat also stacks well with other gain pedals - meaning that you can attain huge, harmonically-rich distorted tones.
Part of the appeal of Tone City's pedals is their bone-head simplicity. With just three dials, the Lil Heat allows you to easily adjust its gain ('Heat') and volume levels, with a single 'Tone' EQ dial giving you precise control over the highs.
Almost all Tone City pedals are built in mini enclosures, which helps to save precious real-estate on your pedalboard. But don't worry, you don't lose any sound quality with micro-sized stompboxes! Tone City uses high-quality components to construct its pedals, and with true bypass switching - your signal will remain as clean and pure as possible when the pedal is disengaged.
