The Casino is an original Epiphone guitar with class and style in abundance! First appearing in 1961, the instrument was initially popularised by the likes of Keith Richards (The Rolling Stones), The Beatles and blues legend Howlin' Wolf. In the decades since, the Casino has remained Epiphone's best-selling archtop electric guitar, with a host of modern masters using the model's signature sound to great effect - including Noel Gallagher and The Edge (U2).
Maintaining the classic design elements that make the Casino a rock n' roll legend - namely a large hollow-body construction, an elegant trapeze tailpiece and a punchy P-90 pickup pairing - the Epiphone Casino promises a scintillating sound with superb playability to boot!
The Epiphone Casino's body is crafted from thin 5-ply Maple, which is used to form its top, back and sides. Giving the instrument plenty of vibrancy, definition and acoustic-like volume - you can expect airy, resonant tones with singing sustain.
To add some mid-range warmth, the Casino's body is joined with a Mahogany neck; topped with an Indian Laurel fingerboard for a silky touch under the fingers. The neck adheres to a time-honoured '60s "C" profile, which provides excellent comfort for traditionalists and contemporary players alike, while 22 medium jumbo frets offer a controllable feel for vibrato and string bends.
Epiphone's Casino guitar is instantly recognisable for its dual P-90 pickup configuration. This 21st Century iteration comes equipped with two proprietary PRO P-90 Dogear pickups; providing plenty of mid-range chime and possessing a subtly-compressed character like all good P-90s should. These pickups will take you back in time with their nostalgic vintage voice - perfectly made for blues, jangly pop and classic rock!
The Epiphone Casino may be an affordable instrument, but no shortcuts have been taken when it comes to its hardware appointments. Sporting Epiphone's Vintage Deluxe machine heads, a tone-enhancing Graph Tech NuBone nut and a LockTone bridge - you can expect rock-solid tuning stability and fast, stress-free string changes.
